A Sumptious Feast for the Eyes
Passion on Canvas

As a child Joy Kashdan Glaser realized that art was her future.

Her first life class was at the Cincinnati Art Academy at fourteen.  From there onwards she had a preference for figurative work, springing from an interest in people in engaging situations, landscapes came later.

As a young artist she had a solo exhibit at Closson's Art Gallery in Cincinnati, displaying twenty watercolors of a trip to Bermuda.

In search of a personal style she drew upon study of great talents: Sargent, Sorolla, Klimpt.  Travel and the camaraderie with artist friends shaped her interest in landscapes.  Plein air is the expression of pleasurable painting days of nearby scenes of Cincinnati and European travel scenes.

For Glaser art is about being visually engaged and making sense of it. "my work celebrates nature in its many facets and impressions, it also celebrates life's rituals which explore, guide and define our lives".

Memberships: Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati, Signature member of Cincinnati Art Club, and Brush and Palette Painters of Cincinnati.
Nine years at the Pendleton Art Center-Cincinnati, Studio 215
